PROGRAM:

Treasurer --- Chris Blechschmidt
Using a series of slides and pie charts Chris reviewed the accounting structure of our RC finances. All the bills are paid, and we have about $14,000 aside to pay for next year’s projects so far.
We still have money in the two snack pack accounts, thanks to the support of Second Harvest and the produce from our own community garden.
Our AWRC Reserve account which is a cushion for unanticipated expenses, is at $42,000. 10% of all net funds raised goes into this Reserve. And each year 5% of its balance is moved into the Operating Foundation account.
Chris said that each year we send $25 per member to the RI Annual Fund. This keeps the club at a 100% E.R.E.Y. level.
Service Projects Chair -- Gail Micca
Gail reviewed the many service projects we make happen throughout the year. She noted that some RCs are shut down because of covid19. But not AWEC!
Gail noted the 300 lbs of produce that Amir delivers to the Lowhill Food pantry regularly. We still have regular snack packs, now assembled mostly be AW Rotarians. We distribute food for Parkland C.A.R.E.S. and LCCC.
Gail noted the $1,000 grant we got for Meals on Wheels, and the donation we made to Community Bike Works. And AW Rotarians are helping distribute food for the Kingdom Life program.
Gail said that the Second Harvest support has reduced our snack costs just when we needed it. And she quickly ran through some slides of the upcoming larger Garden Project being proposed.
Membership -- Tom Friday
Tom said that since July 1, 2020 we have lost 3 members and have added 9 new members. This takes us to 67 Active members right now. He expects we will receive cash from the D7430 START program.
Tom also announced that AWRC will be a “test” RC as part of a Zone 32 Metrics study program with Herb Klotz.
Fundraising -- Len Salines
Len said that they are planning to hold a fundraiser yet thus RY.
Len is looking for a few additional members who might be interested in joining the AW Rotary Fundraising committee for planning upcoming events .
Public Image Report -- Marlene Heller
My responsibilities are keeping the website up to date, getting fresh content on our Facebook page, and assisting the club with other communications.
I also work on the District level: I proofread the bimonthly newsletter for Sharon Rittenhouse, and compile a column for it based on what shows up on the District 7430 CAREmongers page on Facebook. I am also on the District’s Public Image team, where we are currently working on the president’s challenge. I am also on the Marketing Team for the Tri-District Conference.
Secretary -- John Scott
John reviewed a whole lot of duties of our Club Secretary as the position has evolved. One is that he writes and publishes the minutes of our monthly AW Board meetings.
Another function that takes John’s time is continuously updating the ClubRunner database about our members. He noted that other AW Rotarians are doing the weekly Newsletter and the Social media work -- in some RCs this falls to the Secretary.
John also tracks attendance, prepares new member packets, and secures various awards we give. And he plans to store club documents using Google store. And he plans to update the AW Strategic Plan.
John is our Purple Pinkie D7430 5K Race Director. There will be a race in Schnecksville on October 16, 2021. A real race, guys.
CLOSING:
Pres Ralph led us in the saying “One profits most who serves best.”
