It's Rotary Fellowship Month!

Gail Micca
member photo

Every meeting is an opportunity for fellowship and the Mongolia 21|21 dinner will be a fun night this Saturday. Missing an event like this makes me sad, but, like we always say, family comes first. While I am away, I will need a few Rotarians to manage the gardens – that sounds like a good opportunity for FELLOWSHIP!

As we settle into a new schedule and remove our third Wednesday Zoom, we will schedule committee meetings on those weeks. This will begin in June with a focus on Youth Services and Service projects. Please look for an email with more details and know that you are welcome to attend either or both of these Zoom meetings. Eventually, I hope to see these committee meetings in person.

Please consider planning a dining out if you haven’t planned one yet this year. These are some of our favorite fellowship opportunities and there’s lots of room for new ideas. What’s yours?

Enjoy the gorgeous weather!

DID YOU KNOW?

THE FAMOUS WALTON FRESH FLOWERS:

Lisa says “Spring has sprung and so have the tulips in my garden! I am delighted to offer them as a fundraiser for AWRC. This particular fundraiser will go towards helping to our new LCTI CTSO support initiative.

“All options will feature 9 tulips (singles, doubles and fringed) grown by me. You have 2 color choices: pink, or peach with purple.

Three arrangements sizes
     - bunch of tulips $9
     - tulips in a vase $12
     - tulip arrangement in a vase $20 (tulips plus hellebores and foliage)

“Please email me at [email protected] or text 484-431-7298 with your name, color and the cost of what you want. Payment can be made at the meeting, or via PayPal directly to the club.  Quantities are limited, and orders will be filled in the order they are received.

“For our new members: my superpowers are growing and arranging flowers. I believe strongly that flowers bring joy and happiness, and I love to share them with others.  Offering fresh flowers to my fellow Rotarians at an amazing price and then donating all the proceeds to the club is a win-win.

MONGOLIAN 21 / 21 NIGHT
JUNE 10

Please join us for Mongolia 21|21 Night at Gary and Gwenn’s home in Kutztown. The event begins at 5:30. This is an evening of fellowship, fun, and opportunity. You will learn more about the Mongolia 21|21 Project (www.mongolia 2121.org) as well as enjoy the fellowship of Rotarians and other folks who want to do good in the world.

In order to make this a very intimate gathering we are accepting reservations for 20 individuals. We are looking for donations of $50 per person.  All proceeds go toward the $1,400 scholarship for our AWRC Mongolian student. Please contact Gwenn at [email protected] to make your reservation.

The objective of Mongolia 21|21 is to locate 21 US service clubs to partner with Friends of Mongolia (FOM). The 21 clubs will collectively provide 21 full-tuition scholarships for 21 Mongolian students-one sponsored student from every province by the start of the 2025-2026 academic year.

Mongolia 21|21 Night is an event with great food, fellowship, and a special opportunity to support our own Nick Millward, former President of the Northwestern Lehigh Interact Club and a District 7430 Rotary Peace Fellow studying in Queensland Australia. This project provides hope to Mongolian students and their families. The Rotary International theme for 2023-2024 is “Create Hope in the World”. This project is a great example of creating hope in the world.
